Belladonna, Jenna Haze to Host 2009 AVN Awards

LAS VEGAS - Adult Video News has announced Belladonna and Jenna Haze as hosts of the 2009 AVN Adult Movie Awards on Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

The 2009 AVN Awards will mark the 26th year for the leading adult industry awards show. Recognizing outstanding achievement in adult movies, the annual AVN Awards have grown to become a major red-carpet media event tied in with the week-long Adult Entertainment Expo and broadcast around the world. With two of the hottest names in the business hosting the show, the upcoming awards promise to be AVN's biggest and best yet.

“Both Belladonna and Jenna Haze have shown great command on stage at the AVN Awards, as both presenters and award recipients,” said Paul Fishbein, president of AVN Media Network. “I think they will make great, funny, sexy hosts. They look great on television. Plus, they're both extremely popular and are both in big movies that could very well be up for AVN Awards, including Pirates II.”

AVN Awards producer Gary Miller is excited to have two major adult stars hosting the show together.

“We've had one girl hosting for quite a while, so this year we decided to change it up,” Miller said. "Belladonna and Jenna Haze have always been great, and when we spoke to them about it they were both really excited. I think they're going to do an excellent job."

Belladonna and Haze have a natural chemistry. The two girls entered the industry around the same time, worked together on numerous movies, and have become close friends off camera.

“I couldn't be happier with any other girl,” said Haze. “Belladonna has always been one of my favorite and most respected people in the business. It's the best combination they could have picked.”

Belladonna made her first AVN Awards stage appearance in 2002, when Elegant Angel's Buttwoman Iz Bella won Best All-Sex Feature. She went on to receive multiple awards for her performance in The Fashionistas (2003), including Best Supporting Actress, and has since won several trophies as a director for her Evil Angel-distributed movies such as ConnASSeur (2005), Belladonna's Fucking Girls (2006), and Belladonna - Man Handled 2 (which won her AVN's Best Director - Non-Feature award in 2008).

“This is something I always wanted to do,” Belladonna said. “When they were getting ready for the 2008 AVN Awards, I had asked about hosting the show, and they said they would keep me in mind. I'm very excited and grateful to have the opportunity. I am not going to let them down - I'm going to pick the best dress you'll ever see!”

Jenna Haze has seven AVN Awards to her credit, including Best New Starlet in 2003, Best Solo Scene for Big Bottom Sadie (2003), Best Oral Sex Scene for Jenna Haze Dark Side (2007), and Best Couples Sex Scene for Evil Anal (2008). Her star vehicle Interactive Sex with Jenna Haze tied with Tera Patrick's InTERActive as AVN's Best Interactive release of 2008.

“This is one of the biggest honors you could ever have in our industry,” Haze said. “I'm glad AVN is breaking the mold a little bit this year with two gonzo girls. It's going to be an awesome show!”
