Adult Superstar Stormy Daniels Named Publisher of Velvet
Wicked Pictures Contract Star and Director Signs on as Publisher of Long-Running Men's Magazine (PARAMUS, NJ) VELVET Magazine, one of the top men's magazines for over 30 years, have signed adult superstar Stormy Daniels as their new Publisher. This marks only the second time in VELVET's long history that a star has been named to the prestigious post. For over 10 years until 2002, adult film legend Racquel Darrian was signed to the magazine, and now with mega-popular Stormy Daniels signing on with the magazine, a fitting replacement has been found. Stormy has received a wealth of recognition for her work in adult entertainment as an exclusive contract director/writer/performer for Wicked Pictures. She won AVN's coveted "Best New Starlet" award in 2004 and has received several more AVN Awards since. In 2005 Stormy auditioned for and won a part in the Universal Studio's blockbuster, The 40 Year Old Virgin and has also appeared in in the best-selling DVDs for Superbad and Knocked Up, as well on the TV shows Dirt, The Tonight Show and ABC's Nightline and in the music video for Maroon 5's hit, Wake Up Call. The Wicked Pictures epic Operation Desert Stormy, which she wrote, directed and starred in, was recently named the Best Sex Comedy at the 2008 AVN Awards, and the show also saw Stormy winning the Jenna Jameson Crossover Star of the Year award. It's been incredible working with Stormy so far. She's easily one of the most intelligent and creative women in the business today, and she's obviously beautiful, so it's the perfect combination and an obvious choice to feature her in each and every issue, said Dan Davis, VELVET's Editor-in-Chief, who also helms sister publication, GENESIS. “I loved writing my monthly column the last couple of years and my fans really began to look forward to what I'd say next," said Stormy about her latest endeavor. “I am a no-filter, speak my mind kind of girl, so you never know what I will discuss.I could not be more excited that I have found a new home at VELVET and am excited about this new partnership.
