LOS ANGELES, CA - When the subject turns to adult comedy, it’s easy to see why Wicked Pictures contract star Stormy Daniels is perceived as one of the genre’s finest exponents. After all, her latest big budget blockbuster, Operation Desert Stormy, has been dubbed “the best porn movie EVER“ by the tastemakers at Adult DVD Empire, and their reviewers wasted no time in celebrating the project’s sly humor. Observations like “the plot is fun, and it’s a great device to set up the comedy of the movie – which is downright sidesplitting at times” are typical of the responses this hilarious movie is earning. And having already turned in appearances in such big screen comedies as The 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up, Ms. Daniels is taking her knack for generating sexy laughter to the next level - she’s responded to an invitation from the acclaimed comedy troupe and Comedy Central regulars the Upright Citizens Brigade to perform a lighthearted guest monologue this Sunday evening in Los Angeles. Before then, Ohio based fans will have an opportunity to see her Friday and Saturday evenings in special dance appearances at Larry Flynt’s Supper Club, 1045 Old River Road in downtown Cleveland. The Upright Citizens Brigade has produced some of today’s finest comedic talents, including everyone from Andrew Daly to Saturday Night Live‘s Amy Poehler and Horatio Sanz (Poehler is still a current member). Lucky Angelenos who come to the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre at 5919 Franklin Avenue in Hollywood this Sunday at 7:30 PM are cautioned to “expect the unexpected.” In a prepared statement, the UCB has announced simply that “the evening will feature a group of improv comedians currently working in film and television taking the stage, accompanied by a special guest monologist.” As the guest monologist, Stormy will share “off-the-cuff thoughts, feelings, and personal remembrances” that will set the tone for the evening sketches.
It’s a tall order, but one the dynamic Ms. Daniels is likely to find very easy to fill. After all, with titles like last year’s Sleeping Around and the current Operation Desert Stormy to her credit, she’s consistently written, directed, and appeared in some of the most acclaimed original comedies in the adult genre. And as Sunday’s evening’s event makes clear, it’s a talent that hasn’t gone overlooked by mainstream Hollywood!
