Wicked Staff And Stars Reflect On Recently Announced Awards!

Los Angeles, CA - (March 7, 2007 DMPR) - Hollywood columnist Patrick Botz-Forbes once famously called the perennial Oscar Night soiree The Night Of A Hundred Stars the event "where beautiful people come to watch beautiful people get awards for being beautiful." But for the staff and stars of Canoga Park-based adult production powerhouse WICKED PICTURES, it was much more.

Yes, Wicked contract personalities jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Carmen Hart, Kirsten Price, Brad Armstrong, and Randy Spears did watch the Academy Awards in the company of such Hollywood stalwarts as Jon Voight, Martin Landau, Lou Diamond Phillips, Montel Williams, Gary Busey, Richard Dreyfuss, and many others.

But the affair was also an opportunity to reflect on the many trophies they'd won just the month before at the 24th Annual AVN awards. And the lavish Night Of A Hundred Stars bash at the Beverly Hills Hotel had barely become a happy memory before more good news came the studio's way - four wins in the recently announced Empire Awards, and an impressive eleven nominations from the XRCO (X-Rated Critics Organization).

If the 2006 Empire Awards affirmed one thing for Wicked, it's that the company's studio-wide commitment to quality hasn't gone unnoticed, as they received Best Compilation DVD, Best DVD Menus (for Michael Raven's The Visitors), and Best Compilation Studio before capping their Empire Awards winning streak off with the coveted Best Overall Studio award.

The company's many XRCO nominations for their work in 2006 also speak to a commitment to quality above all. Both Brad Armstrong's Curse Eternal and Michael Raven's The Visitors received Best Feature noms, with Armstrong's Manhunters also getting recognition in the Best Epic category. Not surprisingly, Armstrong was also honored with a Best Director nom for his body of work.

Turning to talent, both jessica drake and Kimberly Kane received Best Single Performance - Actress noms (for Manhunters and The Visitors, respectively), while Stormy Daniels was nominated as the Mainstream Adult Media Favorite (an honor she won from the XRCO last year). And In addition to a much-deserved nomination for Male Performer Of The Year, Wicked contract actor/director Randy Spears' fine work in Curse Eternal was singled out for praise in the Best Single Performance - Actor category.
