Evil Angel wins 14 Awards at 2006 AVN Ceremony

In a year that was considered stellar for big features, Evil Angel was honored to receive the most awards for any single company at the 2006 AVN Awards on January 7, 2006.

Gonzo superstar director Jules Jordan received 5 awards, including Best Gonzo Release for the third consecutive year with Slut Puppies. His movie Ass Worship 7 earned Katsumi the Best Tease Performance, a category that has gone to Evil Angel more often than any other company.

Newer directors at the Evil Empire also fared well, with Jonni Darkko and Harmony accepting awards for their productions Anal Showdown and Cabaret Bizarre. First-time directors David Lord and Tricia Devereaux shared the Best Vignette Release award for Vault of Whores, which was executive produced by company owner John Stagliano. the first movie in the Buttman Comics series, Tales from the Crack, was last years Best Vignette Release.

Stagliano was also lauded with a Special Achievement Award for his Vegas show production of Fashionistas, based on the adult film which has won 11 total AVN Awards.

Company PR head Tricia Devereaux was very happy for all of the directors. €œWe knew going into the night that Evil Angel had the most nominations for any company who hadnt shot on film, so we could only hope that wed have a decent shot in some of the video categories. The awards are great in that if you win, you can be happy that someone appreciated your hard work, and if you dont, theres always next year to try harder. Most of all, were happy that this year reminded us that porn is still really about good sex.€�
