SPEED Roars To The Top Of AVN's Retail Buzz Sales Chart

LOS ANGELES CA  - (OCTOBER 15, 2010 ROADS TO MOSCOW) - The checkered flags have waved, and Canoga Park-based adult industry powerhouse Wicked Pictures is pleased to announce that acclaimed director Brad Armstrong's multi-disc Editor's Choice SPEED has crossed the finish line at Adult Video News, where it has snared the coveted number one position on the respected trade journal's Retail Buzz sales chart.

One of the longest-running sales aggregates in adult entertainment, AVN's Retail Buzz tracks and compiles current rental statistics from traditional "brick and mortar" retailers as well as sales figures from traditional and online e-tailers. SPEED's financial track record is matched only by its critical acclaim. The spectacular DVD has already received a host of accolades, including Editor's Choice reviews from top industry trade publications XBIZ and AVN, and an endorsement from Fleshbot that succinctly dubs it "an absolute epic that is beautifully shot, packed full of amazing sex scenes, killer camera work, and brilliant special effects."

A perfect "five out of five" rating from AIPDaily.Com followed a similarly glowing review at Adult DVD Talk, which notes that “each of the Wicked girls gets to shine in both the acting and sex. And one of the most informative reviews has come from the Sinclair Institute Reviewer, who observes, “I’m making predictions for next year’s AVN Awards, and I’m betting that Wicked’s Speed walks away with several top honors, including Best Video...The smart storyline about L.A. biker gangs, the well drawn characters, the great dialogue, the top-drawer visuals and realistic locales, and most of adult’s big names appearing in 11 inventive sex scenes add up to the best XXX title I’ve screened this year.”

These sentiments are echoed in AVN Founder Paul Fishbein's take on the project. His Editor's Choice review notes that “the tight screenplay and thrilling action scenes are augmented by solid acting performances from the whole cast” and he praises the show's technical aspects with the observation that “the three-hour plus film is expertly edited and looks amazing, with high-definition cinematography and rich, textured art direction.” He concludes his views on both the release and its director by observing, “overall, this marks a high point in Brad Armstrong's illustrious career.”

In addition to showcasing jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Kirsten Price and Alektra Blue in leading roles, the movie boasts a cast of more than forty of adult entertainment's finest performers, a strategy XBIZ's Dan Miller calls “one of the most skillful uses of an ensemble cast in adult movie history” in his Editor's Choice review. He goes on to dub the final result “an impossibly sexy, fuel-injected thrill ride. The total package — with its breathtaking cinematography, flawless editing and expert stunt coordination — is adult moviemaking at its best, and it may go down as the crown jewel of Armstrong’s illustrious career.”
